Acorns is a recently developed micro-investing app. There are also a lot of similar apps on the market. The big idea behind it is that it saves pennies while you spend (the app adds the rounded amount from your expenses). These pennies then go towards your investment account. I use this app as another variation of a savings account (I make much more money with Acorns though when compared to my bank account).
This app creates a portfolio for you, and you can choose how aggressively you want to invest. It divides your cash between stocks, options, bonds, etc., so you don’t need to worry about where to put your dollars. It’s sort of a way to play with the market for everyday people. And you don’t need $500 to get started. You might own a piece of one share, of Apple for an example, and still make a profit.
If you’re interested, and want to receive $5 to play around with on this app then just click the picture below. It won’t cost you anything unless you decide to put your own money in.
P.S. I started with $20, and over the past couple of months I’ve saved about $100 which is money I usually waste on other things. Cool, huh?
